Reformas Crack

Reformas Crack has renovated homes and maintained buildings around Barcelona for twenty-five years. We rebuilt the company's site around its finished projects, in Spanish, Catalan, English and Russian, and set up the email that brings the enquiries in.

The brief

The old site described twenty-five years of work in words and showed little of it. You could read that the company renovates apartments to a high standard, but you had to dig to find a finished project, and the photographs that were there did not show the quality of the finish. The design had aged, too.

The owner wanted a site that puts his projects first: each one shown in full, with its size, its timeline and what the team changed, in all four languages the old site offered. He also needed it to bring in enquiries he could answer from his own business address.

01 · Projects

The work, in full

We built the projects page as a run of finished jobs. Each one opens on a full-width photograph, then gives you the place, the floor area and the timeline in the headline: a 74 m² apartment in Sitges, finished in four months. Below that sits what the team changed, from moving walls to fitting underfloor heating, and a gallery of the finished rooms.

Full-size photographs take an age to load on a phone, so we trim each one and serve it at the size your screen needs. A visitor on a phone gets the same sharp kitchen as one on a desktop, without waiting for it.

New projects from his phone

A renovation company finishes jobs every month, and a portfolio that needs a developer to update goes stale fast. We gave the owner a private admin page where he adds, removes and reorders project photographs himself.

He can upload straight from his phone. The site takes the original, resizes it into the same set of sizes as every other image, and publishes the gallery in about two minutes.

03 · Languages

Four languages, no gaps

The old site ran in Spanish, Catalan, English and Russian, and we kept all four. You land on the page in your own language, and the switch sits in the header on every page.

We keep every line of copy in one place per language, and the build refuses to publish if any language is missing a line. A Russian visitor can never land on a half-translated page, and the legal pages carry over word for word from the old site in all four.

04 · Enquiries

Every enquiry reaches his inbox

A quote request that lands in spam is a lost job. We handled the move away from his old provider end to end: the domain, the DNS and the mailbox, now on Zoho, with the records that prove to other mail servers that his messages are genuine.

The contact form sends each request through that same mailbox, so it arrives at info@reformascrack.es and he replies from his own business address. The form also filters out bots before they reach him, and WhatsApp and phone buttons sit on every page for clients who would rather call.

How we built it6 parts
Framework
Next.js, exported as static pages and served from Cloudflare
Images
Trimmed and converted to WebP at five widths, from 480 to 2000 px, including the photographs he uploads from his phone
Galleries
A private admin page that saves his changes and redeploys the site in about two minutes
Contact form
A small Cloudflare Worker that sends each enquiry through his Zoho mailbox, with a honeypot field, a timing check and a limit of five submissions a minute
Email
Moved from OVH to Zoho, with SPF, DKIM and DMARC set up for reformascrack.es
Translations
Type-checked copy in four languages, so a missing line stops the build
Since launch

Quote requests now arrive at info@reformascrack.es, and he answers them from the same address. When the team finishes a job, he adds the photographs from his phone and the project is live a few minutes later.
