Abastumani Residence

Abastumani Residence is a thirty-room hotel at 1,300 metres, in the pine forest above a Georgian spa town. It had a Facebook page and an Instagram account. We gave it a domain, a site in English, Georgian and Russian, and a booking flow that feeds the reservation system the staff already use.

The brief

Before this project, a guest who found the hotel on Instagram had nowhere to go next. There was no website and no domain, and booking a room meant a phone call or a message.

The hotel needed a home of its own online: a place to show the rooms and the forest around them, and a way for guests to book a room themselves. It already ran its rooms and rates in Arealy, a hotel booking system, and the staff had no wish to change how they worked.

01 · Booking

Bookings into the system they already had

We wired the site to the hotel's Arealy account instead of building a second booking system beside it. You pick your dates and a room on the home page or on any room card, and the site opens Arealy's booking engine with both already filled in.

Arealy shows live availability and prices and takes the reservation. The booking lands in the same system the front desk uses every day, so nothing changed on their side.

02 · Setting

Selling the air

Guests come to Abastumani for the climate: pine forest, clean mountain air and thermal springs. We built the home page around that, with the hotel's own photographs of the building in the trees, the paths and the park.

We set it in a forest green, a warm cream and a brass accent, with a classical serif for headings. The key facts sit up front, where a guest comparing hotels will look for them: thirty rooms, open since 2016, 1,300 metres above sea level.

03 · Languages

Georgian, Russian and English

The site runs in Georgian, Russian and English. It picks your language from your browser on the first visit and remembers your choice after that.

A switch in the header changes the whole page in place, booking form included.

04 · Gallery

The whole place, room by room

The gallery holds the hotel's photographs in four groups: the exterior, the rooms, dining and leisure, and the surroundings. You filter to the one you care about and open any photograph full screen.

Since launch

The hotel has an address of its own, and a guest who finds it on Instagram can now pick dates and book a room without sending a message. Each booking arrives in Arealy, where the staff already manage the rooms.
